Yoga Therapist, Julie Cook
For those seeking pain relief and support in managing chronic conditions, I’m here to help. My name is Julie Cook, and I’m a Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) and 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher.
My journey with yoga began early—my mother practiced and taught Kripalu Yoga during the 1970s and ’80s, and my father explored both Martial Arts and Kundalini Yoga. These early influences shaped my lifelong appreciation for mindful movement, balance, and healing.
While Yoga Therapy may seem like a newer modality in North America, it has deep roots—tracing back to the second century CE—and has long been practiced around the world. My training has greatly enhanced my understanding of body mechanics and the power of simple, intentional movement beyond traditional asana.
It’s an exciting time to see Yoga Therapy being embraced within Western medicine, filling a much-needed gap in patient care (though I prefer the word client, as it reflects empowerment and collaboration).
As a C-IAYT, I’m deeply grateful to be part of this evolving integration—helping people find relief, restore balance, and reconnect to their own capacity for healing.
